Qualifications: Required • Excellent speaking and writing abilities and professional telephone demeanor • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and strong typing skills • Ability to organize flow of work, including filing, data collection, information, and appointment scheduling • Ability to work effectively with other community patients, medical offices, department staff and other University offices • Strong work ethic and proactive approach to problem solving with a variety of personnel Desired • Previous successful clerical or related experience in a health care setting • Work experience in health insurance and medical care or legal environment • Baccalaureate degree Responsibilities: • Manage office records such as requisitions, email reminders, calendars, forms and files using a scanning system • Administer secondary insurance claims and related documentation and communication • Distribute mail and faxes to appropriate individuals • Inventory department needs and create purchase requisitions • Answering telephone, email, faxes and text messages • Supervise student workers • Scheduling patients • Attend and prepare minutes for meetings • Keep up with current procedures and HIPAA & FERPA requirements • Assist patients, students, faculty and staff in person and remotely • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training & Sports Medicine or other appropriate administrator
