  1. Your poem should be written in free verse – this means you are not bound by a specific set of rules, rhyme scheme, meter, or rhythm. ***Your poem can rhyme if you want it to, but you do not have to follow a specific pattern.***

  1. Your poem must be at least 10 lines long.

  1. You must incorporate at least 3 of the following literary/poetic devices:
  • Metaphor
  • Simile
  • Personification
  • Alliteration
  • Allusion
  • Irony
  • Symbol

This allusion highlights the importance of the balloonman as he is the symbol of spring in the poem. Pan’s story says that he makes the creatures of the forest dance with his song.
