2.In discussing motivational theory, we discussed Abraham Maslow and Frederick Herzberg. Select either Maslow’s hierarchy of needs or Herzberg’s Motivation-Hygiene theory and discuss how the theory you select provides guidance on how managers should motivate employees. Are the theories still relevant? Why or why not? In your answer provide at least two motivational concepts developed by either Maslow or Herzberg in your answer.

Following is a situation you may face as a public administrator.

You are a city managerAfter attending a ribbon cutting for a new restaurant, you decide to stay for dinner. The owner indicates the meal is part of the opening celebration although you notice that all the other patrons have received bills. When you insist on paying, you are presented with a bill which does not include the cost of the champagne or dessert.

Analyzing this situation using at least 3 of the 4 levels of ethics that are discussed in your text, and we reviewed in class explain the action(s) that the city manager should take.
